Our Corporate Social Responsibility
Career Education Corporation (CEC) and our approximately 90 campuses in the United States, United Kingdom, France and Italy believe that we have an obligation to share knowledge, skills and learning opportunities that enhance the quality of life for individuals and families in the communities where we live and work.
With more than 13,000 employees, 116,000 students and 450,000 alumni, the CEC family represents a substantial force through its established volunteer programs, sponsorships and in-kind contributions targeting underserved populations in our local communities.
Here are a few examples of programs that will impact families and communities for years to come:
| • |
American InterContinental University, in collaboration with Women Employed,
is helping women advance their education through
http://www.WomenAchieve.org. The Web site is designed as a “go-to”
resource for women of all ages and provides information about higher education,
careers, work-life balance, childcare, education financing and many other
topics. It is also a networking site that connects women facing similar issues.

Colorado Technical University nursing and surgical technology students
provided free outpatient surgeries to approximately 50 Colorado residents who
lacked healthcare or medical coverage during a “Day of Surgical Giving.”

Missouri College and four Sanford-Brown College campuses in the
greater St. Louis area donated 1000 backpacks, 350 of which were filled with
school supplies, to the Little Bit Foundation. Additionally, Missouri College
opened a free dental clinic at its campus in Brentwood that will serve
qualified, low-income individuals. Dental hygiene students work in the clinic
under the supervision of dentists and dental hygiene faculty members.

The cornerstone of our corporate social responsibility program is our
relationship with Ronald McDonald House
Charities (RMHC). The valuable skills of CEC’s employees and
students help existing RMHC programs, such as the Ronald McDonald House®,
Ronald McDonald Family Room® and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, do what they do
best – support programs that directly improve the health and well being of
children.
The Career Education Scholarship
Fund (CESF)
is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) fund dedicated to providing both need-based and
merit-based scholarships to qualified students who are attending one of its
participating institutions. Over the last six years, CESF has awarded more than
$3 million in scholarships to help more than 4,500 students realize their
dreams of a college degree.
Private gifts, pledges, and gifts-in-kind in support of scholarships allow
exceptionally able and worthy students to obtain a college education. More information about CESF can be found at:
https://www.cesfund.org.
