        Brown College

        Accreditation

        The college voluntarily undergoes periodic accrediting evaluations by teams of qualified examiners. These examiners include subject matter experts, specialists in occupational education, and professionals in private college administration.

        The college president can provide additional information upon request.

        • Brown College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) to award associate degrees and bachelor’s degrees and also by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).
        • Licensed to operate by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education Services Office. 
        • Eligible institution under the Federal Stafford Loan Program (FSL) and Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (FPLUS). 
        • Eligible institution for Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Pell Grant and Federal Work-Study (FWS) programs. 
        • Eligible institution for Minnesota student grants and Student Education Loan Fund program (SELF). 
        • Authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students. 
        • Approved for the training of veterans and eligible persons under the provisions of Title 38, United States Code.

        Radio broadcasting school can help put you behind the microphone.
        At Brown, Broadcasting is in our DNA. Richard and Helen Brown started the School of Broadcasting in 1946 to train young men and women for careers in the emerging field of Radio Broadcasting.


        Today, technology – including the internet, streaming audio, on-demand video, satellite radio and podcasts – is fueling a communications revolution. Our school of Broadcasting can help students gain the skills necessary to produce audio and video messages to feed our information-hungry world.


        The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul comprise one of the nation’s largest media markets. You’ll find Brown alumni on the air and behind the scenes at a number of radio and television station in both towns. In fact, our broadcast school grads are helping produce news and entertainment every day, for stations from New York to LA, from small-town radio shows to CNN. Our radio broadcasting programs have helped a variety of hard-working professionals; just think what we can do for you.
