Our Interior Design programs emphasize practical knowledge of materials, drafting, and construction along with creative problem-solving competencies. Students prepare for career opportunities in both residential and commercial interior design.

Our interior design program emphasizes project- and team-based learning that reflects the real-world working environment. Instructors have professional industry experience, and students use industry-current tools, software, and equipment. Internships and professional portfolio development are also an important part of many programs.

Students both online and on-campus can take advantage of our Career Services departments. Our Career Services staff members help design students identify, clarify, and pursue their academic and professional goals.

Residential Design
Residential design involves improving the aesthetic appearance and functionality of the interior spaces of private homes.

• Key Traits: Creative problem solving, organization, attention to detail.
• Education Required: Associate degree (support roles), bachelor degree (entry-level). Third-party licensure or certification may be needed to apply for certain positions.
• Where Residential Design Is Needed: Design firms, upscale furnishings and home improvement retailers, private clients.
