Accounting is the practice of tracking financial data. Graduates of our programs should understand:

• The stages of the accounting cycle
• Record-keeping, report and document generation
• How to perform accounting functions, including financial and cost accounting
• How to analyze accounting data
• How accounting information can affect strategic business decisions

Students at all degree levels progress through courses that emphasize industry-current accounting practices. Project-based learning and team-based learning that reflects the real-world working environment are also an important part of our courses.

Students both online and on-campus can take advantage of our Career Services departments. All schools have a dedicated Career Services staff that aims to help accounting students identify, clarify, and pursue their academic and professional goals.

Finally, our schools’ Alumni Associations offer additional opportunities for students and graduates to make important connections—professional and personal.

Accounting
Tracking and analyzing the accounts of a business provides information that helps guide business decisions and ensures compliance with laws and regulations.

• Education Required: Associate degree (support roles), bachelor degree (entry-level), master’s degree (advanced or management roles). Third-party licensure or certification* may be needed to apply for certain positions.
